GE Healthcare is seeking external opportunities which have a potential application as diagnostic imaging agents. Such opportunities could be small molecules or proteins where a transport or targeting mechanism has been demonstrated. With proper labeling these molecules can be developed into valuable targeted in-vivo imaging agents. Two biological processes involved in a wide range of diseases are angiogenesis and inflammation. GE Healthcare is therefore seeking molecules shown to be linked to these processes, primarily compounds targeting receptors which are over-expressed during angiogenesis or inflammation. Another area of interest is in formation of thrombi. Thrombus and particularly pulmonary embolism is a major cause of death, partly due to inadequate diagnosis. GE Healthcareis therefore looking for molecules with potential as in-vivo markers of thrombus formation. Diseases currently being investigated are:
